Blanket Chest

This chest was created for a 30th birthday gift. The cabinet frame is Cherry, the panels are Brazilian Cherry, the legs and handles are Wenge, the inlay is Maple and the chest is lined with aromatic Cedar. Soft down stays were used to keep the top from banging closed. The carving is from a picture the family had of Oregon coast sea grass where they spent a lot of time.
